The initial goal of Van Tol, one of the initiators of Versunie was: “To supply traditionally produced fresh products that enable neighborhood-oriented entrepreneurs to distinguish themselves”. The range of fresh products has since grown to include fresh meat from Verba, which can be ordered by the piece, with the option of daily delivery. The rapidly growing number of biological products in the Netherlands and private brands like “Slagers success”, “Jisperkaas” and “Limmerpolder zuivel” provide operators with quality products that let them hold on to their customers, thereby building up a strong competitive position. For fresh-delivered-daily dairy products, Versunie works together with numerous well-established suppliers. Dutch dairy companies like Campina and Friesche Vlag have contracted Versunie to distribute their fresh dairy products to neighborhood-oriented operators.
